I've hit a bit of a snag with a project. I've got a piece of 20mm PVC pipe that I want to attach 4 pieces of 5mm (phat) ELWire to in a spiral - e.g. the wire is wrapped round the pipe in alternate colours.
Has anyone done this? My problem is finding a good way to stick it and to make it stay stuck - especially for the first few minutes while the glue dries. (or even better, not use glue). The wire really wants to unwind!

or perhaps tape....though I'm thinking possibly not for this application.
so, I'd say zipties....I've seen some clear ones somewhere along the line.

Fri, August 10, 2007 - 4:06 PMI'm not sure if this works, but it's cheap to try out: wrap some clear plastic sandwich wrap around as you wrap the wires around. If that is not sticky enough try clear plastic packing tape.

Re: Fixing wire to a pipe
Mon, August 13, 2007 - 10:51 AMI use "natural" spiral wrap for a similar application (only a bit smaller) and it works great. Looks like this www.waytekwire.com/spiral-w...ubing.htm
There is also large shrink wrap tube, but its PRICEY.
For temp holding I have used wire ties, zip ties and tape. The clear plastic wrap is a great and interesting idea.
